Senator Musliu Obanikoro, PDP Governorship candidate in Lagos state, has said he is the right candidate to take over power from the opposition party, APC in the state in 2015.
Vanguard reports that the former Minister of State for Defence, Obanikoro, stated this on Friday while addressing supporters and members of the state executive of the party in Lagos.
According to Obanikoro who said PDP will wrest power from APC said: “It is time to liberate Lagos. This state has been ruled by one man for the past 16 years”. He urged members of the party to unite towards winning the 2015 elections in the state.
“Experience can never be purchased. I can tell you that only those who have served in government can make meaningful change.
“Those who don’t have experience cannot make meaningful change, they will only go there to start learning governance and we don’t need an apprentice governor in Lagos”, he said.
Meanwhile it was reported recently, that three members of the peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Lagos State have asked a Lagos High court sitting in Ikeja to stop Senator Musiliu Obanikoro from participating in the party’s primaries.
The APC has, however blasted Obanikoro saying his intention to occupying the government house after Governor Babatunde Fashola next year will be worse.
