Niger state Governor Babangida Aliyu has expressed shock over the embarrassing action of a lawmaker representing zone A of the state in Abuja during the chaos at the National Assembly.
Vanguard reports that the lawmaker was said to have attacked the Senate President during the rowdy session at the National Assembly on Thursday which led to the Senate Presidentshutting down the Two Chambers.
Reacting to the lawmaker’s behaviour, Governor Aliyu described the behaviour of the lawmaker representing the State at the Lower House as “despicable, notorious and dishonourable for a Law Maker”.
“We must understand that leadership comes with maturity and scrupulous disposition to issues.
“We in Niger state are indeed shocked by his woeful conduct and I therefore apologise to the Senate President for the embarrassing conduct the Governor remarked”.
Yesterday, it was reported that the police prevented the house Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal and other lawmakers’ from gaining access into the House of Representatives complex in Abuja.
Loyalists to the lawmakers, however determined to make sure Tambuwal enters the complex decided to scale the locked gate as they gained access into the building and eventually brought the speaker inside amidst the police spraying tear gas.
