Adamawa Ag Governor Finitri Emerges PDP Guber Candidate

The PDP is bent of having a semblance of the power of incumbency in Adamawa State ahead of the state's by-election for the office of Governor of State, sequel to the impeachment of Governor Nyako.

Consequently, the acting Governor of the State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has emerged the PDP Candidate as he defeated his rivals by scoring a total of 624 votes. His closest rival, former Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education, UBE, Dr. Ahmed Modibbo scored 197 votes.

Former military administrator of Lagos State, Gen. Buba Marwa, came a distant third with just 54 votes.

In his victory speech, Fintiri thanked the delegates for voting him and urged other contestants to support him in his bid to win the governorship by-election scheduled for October 11, 2014.
